                        Through instant petition, the petitioners have alleged harassment by the police at the instance of private respondents on account of their having contracted marriage.

 

            2.         Learned counsel for the petitioners states that Mst.Mariam Fatima daughter of Shaukat (previous name Hina), who was Christian after having embraced Islam has contracted marriage with petitioner No.2 Gul Bahar being sui juris, out of her own free will and without any pressure or coercion which has caused annoyance to the father of petitioner No.1 who is causing harassment. Protection has been sought by the petitioners in this regard.

            3.         SIP Raza Muhammad Sohu on behalf of SSP Kamber-Shahdadkot, SIP Gul Munir Hulio, SHO PS Drigh and ASI Farman Ali PS Qasimabad, Hyderabad shown appearance and filed statements which are taken on record, copies supplied to the counsel for the petitioners.

            4.         ASI Farman Ali of P.S Qasimabad, Hyderabad states that there is no criminal case registered against the petitioners nor any one has come-forward about the alleged abduction of petitioner No.1. It is stated that no harassment is caused by the police to the petitioners.

            5.         In view of the above, counsel for the petitioners is satisfied and states that police may be directed to provide protection to the petitioners in accordance with law. Accordingly, instant petition is disposed of with directions to the concerned police to ensure that no harassment may be caused to the petitioners nor any case may be registered about the alleged abduction of       Mst. Mariam Fatima (previous name Hina) in respect of her marriage with Gul Bahar Chandio.

            Petition stands disposed of.
