Learned counsel representing Pakistan Rangers Sindh has submitted a statement duly signed by Deputy Assistant Judge Advocate General, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh). The statement reveals that the Sector Commander Shahbaz Rangers on 30.5.2012 has awarded punishment to the so-called detenue on charges of involvement in espionages under section 15(1) of Pakistan Rangers Ordinance 1959 read with rule 4 of Pakistan Rangers (Efficiency, Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1967, whereby he has been dismissed from services and awarded sentence to undergo one year’s R.I. (w.e.f. 13.10.2011). Alongwith the statement is annexed a copy of letter dated 30.5.2012 and form for awarding of punishment as Annexures ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’. Learned counsel submits that the above has been rendered as the so-called detenue pleaded guilty to the charges against him and now he is lodged in Sukkur Jail where he is serving the sentence. He further submits that the detenue may however, file an appeal under Rule 15(1) of Pakistan Rangers (Efficiency, Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1967 within 30 days of the aforesaid order.

In view of the foregoing, the petition has become infructuous and is disposed of accordingly.

A copy of this order may be sent to Sepoy Islamuddin, through Superintendent Sukkur Jail, Sukkur instantly. A copy may also be furnished to the petitioner.
