Detenue Assadullah Ghanghro is present in Court.

Detenue is present in Court and recorded his statement on oath. It has been stated by the detenue that he was taken away by Abdul Majeed Narejo, S.H.O. PS Warisdino Machhi on the fateful date alongwith other detenues, who were released subsequently. It is further stated that he has been illegally detained for about 14 days and was being taken from one place to other during his detention, and was demanded illegal gratification for his release through nominee of the respondent No.1, namely, Fida Hussain Bhatti. It is stated that he has been released pursuant to Court directions.

In view of the statement of the detenue recorded in Court on oath and the serious allegations against S.H.O. Abdul Majeed Narejo of PS Warisdino Machhi, we would direct the DIG Police, Larkana to conduct an enquiry about the alleged incident by associating the petitioner and the detenue in accordance with Police Order, 2002 and if such allegations are found to be true and correct, stern action shall be taken against the delinquent official, namely, SIP Abdul Majeed Narejo, S.H.O. of PS Warisdino Machhi. The D.I.G. Police, Larkana is further directed to remove SIP Abdul Majeed Narejo from his present place of posting, place him at police headquarter and not to assign him the field posting till finalization of the enquiry. Such enquiry may be completed within 15 days and report be submitted to this Court through Additional Registrar.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
