4.                     Through instant petition the learned counsel for the petitioner has sought relief in the following terms:

 

(i)                 To declare that the act of respondent No.3/DIG, Police, Larkana, for promoting the junior head constables than the petitioner by ignoring the name of the petitioner, is in excess of authority, discriminatory, void ab-initio and of no legal effect;

 

(ii)               To direct respondents, particularly, the respondent No.3, to award promotion to the petitioner with effect from the due date of his promotion i.e. with effect from 01.09.1999, with all back benefits;

 

(iii)              Costs of the petition;

 

(iv)            Any other equitable and appropriate relief may also be awarded to the petitioners in the circumstances of the case.

 

 

                        After arguing the matter at some length and on a query of this court as to the maintainability of the instant petition, the learned counsel does not pres instant petition, however he prays that the respondents may be directed to dispose the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law. Accordingly, instant petition is dismissed as not pressed. The petitioner is at liberty to continue to seek redressal of his grievance before the appropriate forum, who shall decide his case strictly as per law, rules and regulations.
