Through this Crl. Misc. Application,
applicant/accused seeks reduction of surety amount from Rs.500,000/- to some reasonable extent.
It appears that applicant/accused was
granted bail vide order dated 16.11.2024, by learned X-Judicial Magistrate
Karachi East in FIR No.1215/2024 for offence punishable under section 489-F PPC
registered at PS Zaman Town, Karachi in the sum of Rs.20,00,000/-, but the
applicant/accused could not make arrangement of such surety amount. Hence applicant/accused
filed Crl. Misc. Application No. 4922/2024 before learned III-Additional
Sessions Judge, Karachi East for reduction of surety amount. Learned
III-Additional Sessions Judge, Karachi East vide order dated 20.11.2024 reduced
surety amount from Rs.20,00,000/- to Rs.500,000/-.
Counsel for the applicant/accused submits
that the applicant/accused is poor and still he confined in jail as he could
not make arrangement of even reduced surety amount. Counsel prayed for
reduction of surety amount to some reasonable extent.
Addl. P.G recorded no objection for
reduction of surety amount to some reasonable extent.
Keeping in view the circumstances
and date of grant of bail, surety amount is further reduced from Rs.500,000/- to Rs.250,000/- and P.R bond in the like amount to
the satisfaction of the trial Court. Instant Crl. Misc. Applicant is disposed
of in the above terms.
