The appellant H.C Ali Raza has been convicted u/s 228 PPC and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for 06 months with fine of Rs.3000/- and default whereof to undergo simple imprisonment for 15 days by learned 1^st Additional Sessions Judge/MCTC Central Karachi vide order dated 21.10.2022, which the appellant has impugned before this Court by preferring an appeal, which has been admitted to regular hearing and in the meanwhile he has sought for suspension of the sentence for the reason that it is short one and hearing of his appeal is likely to take time, which is not opposed by learned Addl. P.G for the State.

In view of above, while relying upon the case of Abdul Hameed Vs. Muhammad Abdullah and others (1999 SCMR-2589), the operation of the sentence awarded to the appellant is suspended, consequently, he is directed to be released on bail, subject to furnishing surety in sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) and PR bond in the like amount to the satisfaction of Nazir of this Court.

Instant listed application is disposed of accordingly.
