4.                Through instant criminal bail application, applicants/accused, namely, Sultan Ahmed son of Nek Mohammad Rind and Tahir son of Ghulam Shabir Bhutto, seek protective bail in Crime No.41/2021, registered at Police Station Lakhi-Gate Shikarpur, for offence under Sections 384, 386, 34, PPC. 

 

                   Learned Counsel contends that the applicants are innocent; that the applicants are journalists and on the recent encounter of Shikarpur Police with the dacoits, which took place on 23.5.2021, wherein three police officials were martyred due to supplying of substandard APC vehicles and in a press conference they had asked some harsh questions from Chief Minister Sindh regarding the issue of supplying substandard APCs, the police being annoyed has implicated the applicants falsely in this case.  He further contends that even the applicants are ready to appear before the trial Court to prove their innocence, but as they apprehend their immediate arrest, they have approached this Court for legal protection.

 

                   Be that as it may, without touching the merits and demerits of the case, the applicants/accused are admitted to protective bail for seven (07) days (with effect from 04.08.2021upto10.08.2021 (both days inclusive) subject to their furnishing solvent surety in the sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand) each and P.R bonds in the like amount to the satisfaction of Additional Registrar of this Court to enable them to appear before the Court concerned along with an application under Section 498, Cr.P.C. This order shall, however, cease to have its effect on 10.08.2021, after Court’s hours or on any date when the applicants surrender themselves before the Court concerned, whichever occurs earlier.

 

                   The bail application stands disposed of.
