            Pursuant to Court’s Notice, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Rajpar, Advocate has shown appearance, files vakalatnama on behalf of the respondent No.2, which is taken on record, and undertakes to file vakalatnama on behalf of the respondent No.3 in all these cases, however, submits on behalf of respondent No.2 that Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation-Customs has taken cognizance of the instant matters relating to placement of hold by Custom authorities on the consignments of the petitioner without any factual or legal basis. It has been further stated that consignments will be released in accordance with law, however, in case of any discrepancy petitioner will be confronted by proper show-cause notice(s), whereafter appropriate order will be passed after providing opportunity of being heard to the petitioner as per law. It has been further stated that some of the petitioners have already approached the respondents for withdrawal of petitions, however, subject to removal of hold and release of petitioners’ consignments in accordance with law.

            In view of such candid statement made by the learned counsel for respondent No.2, learned counsel for the petitioners is satisfied, and submits that petitions may be disposed of accordingly, however, with the directions to the respondents to remove the hold and process of the petitioners’ consignments in view of the re-examination and on the basis of reports submitted by the Laboratory in respect of the sample drawn from the petitioners’ consignments in accordance with law, and also to issue delay detention certificate.

            Accordingly, by consent, instant petitions are disposed of in the aforesaid terms alaongwith listed application(s). However, it is expected that entire process will be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of this order, whereas, request of the petitioners for issuance of delay detention certificate may also be examined in accordance with law.
