This petition involves the question of environmental hazards. The saim nala which is now virtually being used as sewerage nala shows a dirty picture. Originally its width was 20 to 30 feet which is now only 03 to 04 feet. It is claimed that encroachers have embarked upon it and has raised katcha construction. Abdul Fattah, Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur has appeared and submits that he would rectify the issue which includes removal of unauthorized construction and encroachment adjacent to nala and shall also take steps in up-grading of the sewerage nala so that smooth flow of water be observed. He submits that it would not take four weeks to resolve the controversy.

Accordingly, we direct the respondents / official respondents including the Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur, to redress the grievance of the petitioner as raised above and submit compliance report within four weeks.

With the above directions, the petition stands disposed of.
