Mr. Abdul Mujeeb Shaikh, Advocate files vakalatnama on behalf of respondents / Sukkur Electric Power Company.

The subject matter of this petition is a detection bill, which was apparently issued by Sukkur Electric Power Company. When inquired from the counsel for SEPCO as to under which authority such detection bill was issued, the counsel showed his ignorance. In pursuance of Sub‑Section 6 of Section 26 of the Electricity Act, 1910, it is a discretion and mandate of the Electric Inspector to look into the matter on an application by an aggrieved party. Sukkur Electric Power Company was aggrieved of the consumption of electricity by illegal means and an application ought to have been preferred by them to the Electric Inspector, who then adjudge such complaint. Be that as it may, the respondents are still at liberty to move such application before Electric Inspector Sukkur in respect of illegal abstraction of electricity, whereafter the Electric Inspector shall decide the issues as raised in the complaint / application preferably within four (04) weeks after giving notice to the petitioner. Till such controversy is resolved by the Electric Inspector, no coercive action be taken by the respondents.

The petition and listed application stand disposed of in the above terms.
