In this matter a fixed date was given for today with direction to the I.O. to bring the record of investigation. After we have risen from the Court, the petitioners’ counsel requested in Chamber for taking up the matter for the reason that the petitioners are under threat of being arrested in terms of FIR No.116 of 2009 registered at Police Station Tando Adam. The matter brought in this petition relates to the marriage of petitioner No.3 on her free will being sui juris. The I.O., who was present in Court today, was called but the petitioners’ counsel states that he immediately left the Court stating that no one has asked him to stay over. This conduct of I.O.appears to be not appropriate; more so, when the petitioners’ counsel had informed him that she will make a request for taking up the matter in Chamber. Consequently, issue show cause notice to the I.O. as to why he left the Court when he knew that the petitioners’ counsel will make the request for taking up the matter in the Chamber. The explanation be submitted by I.O. on next date on which date he will also be present along with record of investigation. Adjourned to 21.5.2009.
