.................
This matter is pending since 2012.
Petitioner’s premises are claimed to have been without electricity. The meter
was removed somewhere in June, 2014. It is claimed by the respondents that there
were / are outstanding in the sum of Rs.2,53,900/-. Since it requires enquiry /
investigation, we deem it appropriate to refer it to the Electric Inspector to
ascertain as to whether such amount is outstanding and payable prior to the
removal of the meter in June, 2014 or it was accrued subsequent to June, 2014
on account of lab test carried out in accordance with law. The Electric
Inspector shall apply the law to ascertain as to whether such amount is outstanding
or otherwise, preferably within six weeks whereafter an order be passed for the
installation of new meter subject to payment of dues if found by the Electric
Inspector. The copy of the order may also be placed on the record of this Court
for compliance.
The petition in the
above terms stands disposed of.
