            Through this petition, the petitioners are seeking protection against alleged harassment caused by the official respondents on instance of the private respondents on account of their freewill marriage.

            Pursuant to notice, the respondent No.1 has filed his statement/ comments, which is taken on record; copy whereof provided to counsel holding brief. In his statement, the respondent No.1 has denied the allegations; however, he has shown his readiness to provide protection to the petitioner as and when required. The respondent No.1, who is present in person, further submits that no case is registered against any of petitioners at police station.

            In view of the above, the instant petition stands disposed of with directions to the official respondents to act strictly in accordance with law and provide protection to petitioners as and when needed.

            At this juncture, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that some persons relating to petitioner No.1 have gathered outside the Court premises, as such the petitioners apprehend danger to their lives, therefore, he prays that the petitioners may be provided police protection. In the circumstances, the Additional Registrar of this Court is directed to arrange police protection/ escort to petitioners to take them to their destination safely.
