Pursuant to court notice, Shahnawaz Shaikh, Assistant in the office of XEN, SEPCO Division and Safdar Ali Malik, SDC in SDO Office, Ghotki have shown appearance and submit that since number of residents of village Adloo Machi, Ghotki, who were being supplied electricity through one transformer, were not making payment of electricity dues since long, therefore, such transformer was removed. However, it has been stated that if this Hon’ble Court may direct, the transformer will be reinstalled by tomorrow and the electric connections of the consumers who were making payment of their electricity dues regularly will be restored immediately. As regards connections in respect of the electricity bills, defaulters will be restored only after clearance of their outstanding dues.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners before this Court are not the defaulters in respect of their electricity bills who have been deprived with the electricity in view of default by some other consumers, therefore, respondents may be directed to reinstall the electric transformer immediately, where after, the electricity connections of petitioners and other consumers who have not defaulted or may clear their outstanding electricity bills, shall be restored promptly.

Accordingly, instant petition stands disposed of with directions to the respondents to reinstall the electricity transformer at village Adloo Machi, by tomorrow, and thereafter, to restore the electricity connections of the petitioners/consumers who are making regular payments of their electricity dues. However, the electricity connections in respect of the consumers who are continuously defaulting in payment of their electricity dues may be restored after their clearance of outstanding electricity bills or on their making payment of outstanding amount in installments, if allowed by SEPCO authorities, as per law rules or policy.

Petition stands disposed of in above terms.
